The Atlantic 50 is a convertible type sportfishing boat, available in either aluminum or steel construction. She is perfect for the angler who likes to have comfort along with fish-ability.
The arrangement of the Atlantic 50 centers around her fishing cockpit. The large aft cockpit with integrated fish wells provides ample room for fighting and working a gamefish. A transom door is provided to allow easy recovery of the fish. The main saloon is on the same level as the cockpit. Two double staterooms, an upper/lower stateroom and full head provide ample space for luxury and longer trips.
Her planing hullform is an evolution of the very successful Waverunner 38 planning hull. The forward section of her hull have considerable deadrise to reduce pounding in head seas while her aft section flattens out to give her a good turn of speed on a plane with less horsepower. A full-length chine flat is incorporated into her hull to give lift at planning speed and to knock down spray. As with any performance hull, she has no centerline keel.
The Atlantic 50 is designed for a twin-screw main propulsion plant. Her top speed in aluminum will approach 30 knots. Engineering drawings are provided with the kit or cutting files. The machinery drawings include sample equipment to begin your machinery systems planning.
As with all of Bruce Roberts Design’s yachts the Atlantic 50 is structurally designed to meet or exceed ABS’s requirements for motor pleasure yachts. She is available as CNC cutting files or delivered as steel or aluminum pre-cut package. If you want the performance this hull can provide, we recommend building the Atlantic 50 in aluminum.
