The Trawler Yacht 485 is a full displacement, ballasted, World girding trawler yacht available with regular side decks, single side deck, or as wide-body saloon version. Designed with a raised pilothouse and Portuguese bridge, these vessels embody the requirements of a proper passage making trawler yacht.
The TY 485 has the space available to provide accommodation for two couples plus all the facilities expected by today’s cruising yachtsman. The engine room has standing headroom and more than sufficient space to accommodate the machinery requirements of today’s cruising motoryacht.
The lower deck arrangement of the TY 485 features a full width master stateroom and en-suite head. Which is a highlight of the lower deck arrangement. The forward guest stateroom features upper and lower berths. The lower deck head has ample space to accommodate both a tub an shower.
Her hullform incorporates Bruce Roberts Design’s latest thinking on passage making trawler yachts: A single chine hull to reduce rolling, a higher prismatic coefficient to allow increased speeds when required, bilge fins which can be combined with active fins to dramatically reduce rolling, and an optional bulbous bow to further reduce pitching. Similar to our successful TY 430, the hull of the TY 485 trawler yacht has an integrated spray flat in her hull to knock down spray and to lift the bow in head seas or when running down swell. A full keel and a balanced rudder complete her underbody.
Several machinery options are available for the TY 485, both versions of the boat (side deck & wide body) can be fitted with either a straight drive or a V-drive. They are also available in single screw or twin screw, and can use a wet of dry exhaust system. Engineering drawings for these machinery options are provided within the kit or cutting files. As with all of Bruce Roberts Design’s trawler yachts, the TY 485 is structurally designed to meet or exceed ABS’s requirements for motor pleasure yachts. She is available as CNC cutting files or delivered as a steel or aluminum pre-cut package.
