The Trawler Yacht TY 620 is a full displacement, ballasted, world girdling trawler yacht available with regular side decks or as wide-body saloon version. Designed with a raised pilothouse and Portuguese bridge, she embodies the requirements of a proper passagemaking trawler yacht.
There is generous room available to provide accommodation for two couples plus all the facilities expected by today’s cruising yachtsman. A full width master stateroom and en-suite head highlights the lower deck arrangement. Two guest staterooms are also included below along with space for an office or work shop. The engine room features full standing headroom and more than sufficient space to accommodate the machinery requirements of today’s cruising motoryachts.
Her hullform incorporates Bruce Roberts Design’s latest thinking on passagemaking trawler yachts. A single chined hull to reduce rolling, a higher prismatic to allow increased speeds when required, bilge fins which can be combined with active fins to dramatically reduce rolling, and an optional bulbous to further reduce pitching. Similar to our successful TY 430, the TY 620 has an integrated spray rail in her hull to knock down spray and to lift the bow in head seas or when running down swell. A full keel and a balanced rudder complete her underbody.
Several machinery options are designed for the TY620. Both versions of the boat (side deck & wide body) are able to be fitted with one of the following, a straight drive, Vee drive or hydraulic drive system. Engineering drawings for all three drive systems are provided within the kit or cutting files. The machinery drawings include sample lists of equipment to begin your machinery systems planning.
As with all of Bruce Roberts Design’s trawler yachts the TY620 is structurally designed to meet or exceed ABS’S requirements for motor pleasure yachts. Her stability meets or exceeds the US Coast Guard requirements for an offshore passenger vessel. She is available as CNC cutting files or delivered as a steel or aluminum pre-cut package.
